I graduated from Sacramento State University in May 2019 with a Bachelors Degree of Science with a concentration in Dietetics. I immigrated from the Ukraine to the U.S when I was ten years old. Learning a new language as well as a new culture was a challenge. However, I always knew I want to pursue higher education despite all the challenges because I would not have the same opportunities in my home country. I fell in love with food and health science in high school.  As I began to change my dietary habits I realized that I want to do the same for others. I was thrilled to learn that I can major in something I will enjoy for the rest of my life. Working in a food service setting for as few years allowed me to see that the possibilities in dietetics are endless. I absolutely love learning how food can be used to help manage different diseases.  My blog posts will explore four diseases of the body and how food is used as "medicine".
